Port Building Yard

In order to maintain the quays and various marina facilities of the Port of Flensburg, the Hafen GmbH (Port Authority) operates the port construction yard (Hafenbauhof). To optimally utilize the construction yard's capacity, services and construction work are also offered outside of the port of Flensburg. Particularly in the area of port maintenance, the yard has earned an excellent reputation among operators of surrounding marinas.

On the west bank, south of the power plant quay (Kraftwerkkai), lies the workshop and equipment quay for the construction yard's floating equipment. The floating equipment maintained includes a self-propelled work pontoon equipped with a crane and a pile driver. This machinery is used to construct entire marina structures or to install what are known as fender piles at the quay walls within the port. This allows steel and timber piles up to a total length of 18 m to be driven and installed.
